Summary

Many parents would like to co-facilitate the 9 ways course but need further support and assistance. They feel they need to be coached in using their initiative to promote the course and/or require feedback on their facilitation skills after conducting their first course.

More time is required to deliver the course (i.e. specifically to promote the course, gather parents, facilitate the course and follow-up with participants).

Significant themes that emerged as a result of taking the course was better connection with their children; improved self-awareness; ability to remain calm and patient; improved communication, effective loving discipline.

The course has had a long term effect with those participants that took the course 4 years ago. They indicated that they still resonate with the principles and review the materials regularly.

Conclusion

Of the participants surveyed:

A majority of people said that they feel more connected or united with their children. They themselves are more calm and centered. There is less yelling, reacting (e.g. snapping) and temper tantrums.

Overall, parents were able to use the 9-Ways ideas, strategies and philosophies within their own home and share them with their friends, families and communities. Parent leaders and mentors clearly emerged.
